UTOPIA : THE HEALING POWER OF KPOP

For as long as I can remember, K-pop has been a part of my life—not just as music, but as something that carried me through difficult times. That’s why I am making Utopia: The Healing Power of K-pop.

Theme: At its core, this is a story about connection. Music becomes a lifeline—between fans and idols, but also between fans themselves. The film is about resilience, joy, and the way art can make us feel less alone.

Why this film? Because too often fandom is misunderstood or dismissed. I want to show the real, human side of K-pop fans and how being part of this community is just as meaningful as any other cultural passion.

Some films that inspire me include Bing Liu’s Minding the Gap (for its personal yet universal storytelling) and Agnès Varda’s The Gleaners and I (for its poetic essay-documentary tone).

Logline:

This documentary follows my KCONLA 2025 journey, exploring how the culture provides emotional support, healing, and community in my life.
